ABOUT ME
I was born in San Gabriel, California and grew up in Alhambra. I graduated in May 2021 with a Master's degree in journalism at the University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Television, Film and Media Studies with an option in journalism from California State University, Los Angeles.
I have always been interested in sports, especially baseball. I was fortunate enough to play four years of baseball in high school, but when I started college, I gave up playing the sport that I love.
I came to the realization that if I cannot play the sport that I love, then the next best thing would be to cover it. My ultimate goal is to become a sports writer and/or broadcaster for Major League Baseball (MLB).
In the summer 2018, I interned at the San Diego Coastal Collegiate League as a baseball operation intern/public address announcer.
When I was at Cal State LA, I wrote for my school’s newspaper, the University Times. I covered politics, campus news, and my personal favorite, sports. I later joined the staff in Jan. 2019 as a general assignment reporter and two months later I was promoted to the paper’s sports editor.
During the summer of 2019, I returned to San Diego to intern for the San Diego League. There, I resumed my role as PA announcer while also taking on the role of a communications manager. I was in charge of writing game recaps, press releases and weekly updates for the league as well as conducting pre and post-game video interviews with players and coaches.
As a graduate student at USC Annenberg, I became a multimedia journalist for Annenberg Media and produced a wide variety of content across different platforms. I had the opportunity to produce audio, video and text stories during my time at USC. I also gained experience in producing day of air video and text stories for the media center.
Here is my portfolio of all my journalism work I’ve done in school and in the field. Enjoy and thanks for visiting my site!
